Tax Advisor Relationships

Tax Advisors are critical to success...

Our goal is to work in symmetry with the independent tax advisor and preparer to help them enhance the overall financial strategy.  RPTI’s services only compliment the position of the primary tax representative, and we look forward to discovering with them if our professional offerings are right without threatening any relationships.

Independent and without ulterior motives…

RPTI is exclusively owned and operated with single focus as a real estate tax incentives company, servicing the clients of hundreds of independent tax advisors across the country.

Most cost segregation providers have common ownership or are direct affiliates with CPA firms or other tax preparers, which is a direct threat to a competing CPA firm’s sensitive and valuable clientele.   These cost segregation companies may appear to act with autonomy in the marketplace, but this conflict of interest should not be overlooked.  Our experience suggests:

  1. CPA firms often use their cost segregation subsidiary to cultivate new clients for their primary business of providing tax filings.
  2. CPA owned service providers often suffer from audit hubris and take shortcuts in their documents, which is the primary reason for the dismal 54% compliance rate found in our competition’s documents. They have a mentality of “benefit now, compliance later if needed” which puts the client at risk.
  3. The overall tax code is broad and requires CPA’s to be broad in skill set. Cost segregation is an industry by itself and requires technical specialists that are focused with a deeper understanding of real estate, construction, and applicable case law.

RPTI is a company of real property specialists that is independently owned by its operators, fully absent of competition to CPA firms and tax preparers.  We do not provide tax advice or prepare tax documents beyond the real estate incentives we promote, neither in-house nor under separate name.
